About the author

Like everybody, I was born in simpler times:  for me, it was 1961.  I remember stores being closed on Sunday; everybody being thankful for a day of rest.  I remember rotary phones, party lines, typewriters, and adding machines.  I remember the first handheld calculators, computer punch cards, and debates about personal computers.

My education is in the liberal arts. I am biased in that I believe higher education should make us better humans, not just better workers. 

Throughout my life, I've felt the best when I have been pursuing some athletic goal. Ranging from building and then working out in the high school weight room, to competing in strongman more recently, my body type lends itself to strength sports.  I've had articles published in Power Magazine, on BodyBuilding.Com, and I've presented seminars on coaching, lifting, and injury rehabilitation across the globe. I've also helped top-level athletes work through difficult points in their career.
