If you have read anything on this blog that has helped you or entertained you in some way, however small, please donate something - even if it's just a couple bucks. A small blog entry, if I'm lucky, takes me a minimum of one hour to put together; sometimes I have spent many more hours fact checking.
Ultimately, my time - just like you and your time - is all that I have. While I get a certain amount of satisfaction from writing, without consideration of the audience, it would be good to have more explicit acknowledgement of the value of what I do.
Such acknowledgement, in the form of donations and increased readership, would help in a couple ways; the first is obvious, and involves paying the mortgage. The second is the creation of a new identity for me. I've mentioned, more than once, that our identity is largely a social construct, and I've essentially had my identity stripped from me, to become nothing more than a terminal cancer patient.
That perception needs to change. Your acknowledgement can go a long way towards effecting that change.
